uni's been crazy again this week!

it started off with shaun daring me to not use my right leg until lunch on mon, and i dared him back. it was total madness, hopping around was so tiring! i nearly threw up my breakfast and pass out after hopping up goodness knows how many steps in lt. it was crazy tough. or maybe i nearly vomited because of my weird combination of cheescake + milo for breakfast which gave me a stomachache afterwards. anyway professor iekhsan saw me hopping around and he was like, "are you okay? do you need crutches?" hahaha so funny la, christie replied, "no sir, it's a dare." then prof iekhsan laughed and i didnt hear what he said.

so i came up with a punishment for him. he had to serenade joel from the 2nd floor! it was hilarious man, i couldnt stop laughing so the vid turned out to be so bad because i was shaking so much.

we had asepsis and infection prevention this week too! and they gave us the surgical cap and face mask and surgical gown. so cool! now i feel like a real doctor. or at least look like one.

med sch is seriously turning into some real life drama.
sigh. politics.

kindda makes life interesting though.

med sch's a bit like hogwarts!

im serious, see, we already have a malfoy and a fudge!
except malfoy in the book is wayy better.

malfoy here doesnt have manners like the malfoy in the book.
neither does this malfoy have any respect for anyone (other than the ones he thinks are powerful).
our malfoy also believes that he is superior to others and has the right to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

then there's fudge, who is a total jerk.
he's gotten comfortable with his position and is afraid that someone might overpower him someday.
he thinks that we (like the DA) are gonna overthrow them (the Ministry of Magic).
so he's imposing all these constitutions on us, just like what fudge did (through umbridge) in book 5.
power-obsessed fudge is paranoid.

bad things aside, we've got some good ones that are similar to hogwarts too! =D

like um, instead of training us to be witches and wizards, med sch's training us to be doctors!

and the subjects that we're learning right now are very much related to our working life! see, like hogwarts, we dont learn english and math. instead, we have sociology, clinical skills, law & ethics, and the standard anatomy, pharmacology, etc etc.

gosh, i have got to stop being so obsessed.

this actually happened several days ago, but i didnt hav time to blog about it ...

we were having dinner, and my grandma was trying to get my dad to eat the drumstick she saved for him but my dad kept refusing, saying he was lazy and full. i didnt understand my dad at first, thinking it was quite mean of him to do that, plus grandma looked really hurt because she probably thought that he doesnt love her cooking anymore, i guess. it was only when i noticed that my dad kept trying to force her into eating it instead that i realised he was doing it out of love ...

okay, here goes ...

i never imagined being in a diff uni will cause us to drift that much apart.
suddenly, it was like episode singapore all over again, where i barely talk to my tmn tun frens, let alone meet up with them, even though a few of them are my neighbours. -.-

taylor's was amazing, most of us went there.
it gave me a chance to sort of re-do my whole sec sch life all over, because i was an introvert before i went to spore, so i didnt know most of my schmates till we were collegemates ... funny, huh.

and of course, i'll never forget my fellow gaylords.
first, there's yun yun, who's always there for me, through thick and thin, and ups and downs. even though we still keep in close touch, it's still not the same, you know? sadly, things will get harder once u start uni too, so im kindda hoping that day wont come so soon. =( seeing yun yun's face gives u the same feeling of belonging that you get when you go home after a hard day's work - comforting and u just know that ur day wasnt so bad after all ...

next, there's pei pei, my siamese twin! rmb how we used to listen to fawkes (my mp3 player) in class till ms prem got fed up of us and nicknamed us that? those sure were fun times ... and also, we used to make the same mistakes and say stuff and think exactly alike that sometimes it really seemed as if we were siamese twins! pei pei's so sweet and fragile at times that u just feel the need to protect her ... mess with my pei pei and u mess with ME! rawr!

then there's jas, who's super chun but always thinks lowly of herself. -.- jas is such an incredible person. she's hardly ever sad and the best thing about her's dat she always finds something positive to say about everyone. jas adds a smile to everyone's faces wherever she goes ...

last but not least, we hav the gaylord of all gaylords, the founder of our club (?)!

din din's like no guy i've ever known. his job of being the gaylord of all gaylords means that he has to constantly put up with my nonsense, pei pei's sarcasm, yun yun's teasings and jas's talks about girls. din din's so loyal, he's willing to sacrifice everything for anyone he loves ... which is a good and also bad point, depending how u see it. im so glad we're still in the same uni. :) he's one of the greatest friends anyone could ever ask for. okay lah, better not praise him too much, later he get perasan. haha

i guess i'll just end here since ive got tons of reading up to do. =/

studying medicine IS stressful.
i was so confident that i'd handle it easily, but when faced with the real thing, WHOA! it's nothing like wat i imagined.

so here's some of the things we med students did to overcome our stress.

Monday
christina & i were looking for a toilet when i decided to drop my bag in my lan classroom first.

outside my lan classroom ...

me: eh woman. can we just use the males' toilet? the females' toilet very far la. it's all the way at the other end & im very lazy.

christie: i dare loh if u dare.

me: ooh okay!

in the toilet:

christie: ehh imagine if we come out & we see some guy at the urinals.

me: then ah, just say, "whoops. i think we entered the wrong toilet!"

*opens the door n sees lecturer, then closes door back again*

lecturer to christie: er, i think u entered the wrong toilet.

christie: whoops. *smiled sheepishly*

Wednesday

ehh it wasnt my idea this time okay, it's shaun(mr. perasan)'s! really!
somehow ppl kept mistaking it for mine.
haha shaun stole my last yr's idea.
was gonna do it again this yr, but i couldnt think of anyone who'd be willing to go along with it!
so when shaun proposed it, i jumped at the chance! :)

we were so scared that each will bail out on the other, leaving that person to look stupid on his/her own.
shaun reached uni earlier than i did, apparently he attracted a lot of attention in lt 1, so he got a bit embarrassed and asked everyone to turn back to the front.
then i came in late, and everyone turned their heads to take a look again.
it was so funny, could see some of them craning their necks to get a better view, and the lt broke out in loud whispers.
i wonder what they said. haha

btw, i think shaun looks like a cross between g and ken. what do you think?

Thursday
hui sze sent christie n me to the old campus.
we were walking in when christie's sharp eyes spotted ali's car!
so us being us, we came up with a brilliant idea ...

*whistles innocently*

heh heh. best part was that ali didnt suspect it was us at all!
so he kept checking his car, thinking that the fella who left the note was just very weird.

so on fri, during the break between our lectures ...

me: ali! how was ur car! i heard it got banged!

ali: how u noe ah?!

me: ohh, cos christie and i were walking past when we saw ur car! n we read the note! (true wert)

ali: you put the note there is it?!

me: i didnt write that note! (it was true kay, cos christie was the one who wrote it)

christie: ehh ali, so did u try calling the number?

ali: no lah, cos i checked my car, and there wasnt any dent or scratch on it!

christie & me: u shd just call n tell that person that ur car is okay la ...

ali: oh yalah. maybe i'll call that person n scare him a bit, say my car's in a terrible condition.

me: what if it turns out to be some chun chick! i bet u'll keep that no. right!

aiman: then u sms her, "u can bang my car anytime!"

me: no no, u should write, "u can bang ME anytime!"

whoa, as soon as i said that, joel's, shaun's & shazeea's heads swivelled in my direction! hilarious man, their reactions were so fast!
didnt mean for it to be that loud anyway.

anyway ali finally found out that the number that was written on the note belongs to christie on sat nite. ahaha took him long enough!

oh, it all started out when ali made a bet with cuz and me,
if cuz lost to ali, cuz and i hav to do a dare, and it could be anything that ali cooks up. anything at all.

1. i uhhh scratch my backside when i think no one is looking.

1. i hav very long second toes. that are much longer than my big toes. u can ask to see them if u dont believe me.
2. i hate to eat veggies (except potatoes).
3. i love to eat rusks. if u dont know what that is, it's a brand of baby biscuits. (WHAT! i know a few other ppl who do too)
4. i think my toe nails are ugly so i always keep them painted.
5. i love to wear guys' tee (actually i didnt realise it until shaun pointed it out)
6. my body naturally produces laughing gas. at least, that's what i think causes me to laugh over nothing.

when it comes

actually, in my entire life, i always thought i was pretty different from anyone i know.
or as mrs cheong said, "you're always the odd one out, aren't you?"
but meeting the rest of the med students, i discovered that there's actually a lot of them who are totally like me.
u could say i've finally found a place i truly belonged to now.

i guess it's kind of like, we're all pieces of a jumbled jigsaw scattered everywhere.
we're all parts of a bigger picture, designed in a way to complement each other perfectly.
every one of us was born with this purpose, and our whole lives have been leading up to this, right here, right now.
the past 19 yrs were for equipping us with the skills and knowledge, and also personality and attitude as well, that we require for this very journey,
as our lecturer called us, "the chosen ones." (or the guinea pigs however u take it)

God has it all carefully mapped out, see?
im sure at least once in our lives, we've all passed each other somehow, without noticing it.
like maybe, how cuz and i were born as cousins, it's definitely no coincidence.
and lilian and keng guan are siblings.
and khe cia, cuz and i were classmates last yr.
and su yi's classmates were my frens from hosp attachment.
and christina, natalie and darling were classmates as well.
and christina, natalie, darling, hui sze, lih en, su yi, khe cia, cuz and i were from taylor's.
and so on.

oh and also, it's funny how monash started its MBBS prog just in time for us to enroll in right after we graduate from college.

now the time's right, all the pieces of the jigsaw hav finally come together and are on their way into solving the puzzle. :)

it's kind of freaky, when put in this way.
but nevertheless, still very very cool!

see, everything happens for a reason!
